Entrepreneurship faculty win grants for course development

Twelve faculty associates are recipients of 2022 Louis H. Zalaznick Teaching Assistantships, obtaining resources of $1,500 to $3,000 to enable establish or extend courses and add teaching assistants.

The plan, administered by Entrepreneurship at Cornell, was established in 1993 by David W. Zalaznick ’76, a Cornell trustee, and his spouse, Barbara ’76, to honor David’s father, Louis. The awards permit school affiliated with Entrepreneurship at Cornell to increase their capacity to do the job with college students by delivering assistants to support with their classes and/or program growth.

Zalaznick award winners and their tasks:

  • Celia Bigoness, associate medical professor of legislation and director of the Entrepreneurship Regulation Clinic at Cornell Legislation School, will use the funding to employ an adjunct professor to help in the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic
  • John Callister, the Harvey Kinzelberg Director of Entrepreneurship in Engineering, will seek the services of an assistant for his Entrepreneurship for Engineers course
  • Jorge Colon, senior lecturer at the Cornell University of Veterinary Medication, will use the funding to aid his course, Agile Innovation, as properly as other entrepreneurship courses on his roster
  • Brooke Hollis, executive director of the Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures and a lecturer in the Sloan Method in Well being Administration, will seek the services of training assistants for two courses
  • Robert Karpman, an adjunct professor in Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate College of Administration, will use the funds to aid assistants in his drop and spring courses
  • Matt Marx, school director of Entrepreneurship at Cornell, will use the funding to assist two entrepreneurship classes targeted on dilemmas in founding new ventures, a single for MBA learners and 1 for undergraduates
  • Greg Ray, viewing lecturer at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate Faculty of Management, will use the funds to assistance his bioentrepreneurship practicum system
  • Wes Sine, professor of administration and organizations at SC Johnson, will use the funds to guidance educating assistants in two lessons
  • Brad Handle and Ken Rother, lecturers for eLab, the scholar small business accelerator, will use the cash to aid a educating assistant
  • Daniel Van Der Vliet, director of the Smith Family Company Institute, will use the funding to build the first Cornell Case Levels of competition for Family Possession and fund a educating assistant for his training course, Leaders in Relatives Organization
  • Chuck Whitehead, professor of business regulation at Cornell Regulation College, will seek the services of a educating assistant to do the job on a securities regulation casebook.
