In her teenager years, she started a lifelong obsession with the songs of The Smiths. She listened to the punk and New Wave tunes wafting from the juke box at Choir Loft, a bar on Bay Avenue that she and her mates frequented. “Back in these days, pretty ladies did not want faux IDs to get into bars,” said her sister, Kristi Geddis.

Megan graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Albany, where by she majored in English. In 1996, she earned her JD diploma from Washington and Lee College Faculty of Law.
