Four professors at the College of Virginia School of Regulation are joining the school’s podcast, “Common Law,” as co-hosts with Dean Risa Goluboff for the fourth time.
The show will return Feb. 3 with Goluboff and Cathy Hwang serving as the initial episode’s hosts. Professors Danielle K. Citron, John C. Harrison and Gregory Mitchell will also rotate via co-internet hosting obligations this period, which is called “Co-Counsel.”
Goluboff’s co-host for the 1st 3 seasons, Professor Leslie Kendrick ’06, is using a split from podcasting. To fill that hole, Goluboff needed to function professors with varied activities who would aid opt for guests and topics for the show.
“That’s why we determined to phone this season ‘Co-Counsel,’” Goluboff said. “All our co-hosts are bringing their own know-how to the table and incorporating their individual flavor — and it’s been so substantially pleasurable to history.”
Attendees this year consist of UVA regulation professors Aditya Bamzai, Quinn Curtis, Kristen Eichensehr, Mitu Gulati, Andrew Hayashi, John T. Monahan and Megan T. Stevenson. Graduates Doriane Nguenang ’21, an associate at Baker McKenzie, and Neil Richards ’97, a professor at the Washington University in St. Louis College of Regulation, will also be highlighted. Other lawful students scheduled to appear as attendees contain Anita L. Allen of the College of Pennsylvania Carey Legislation School, Elizabeth F. Loftus of the College of California at Irvine, Tom R. Tyler of Yale Legislation College, Jennifer Mascott of the George Mason College Antonin Scalia Legislation University and Tara Leigh Grove of the College of Alabama.

“We’ll have episodes on regulation and psychology, privateness, national stability regulation, administrative law, constitutional law, tax, sovereign personal debt, money regulation and extra,” Goluboff reported. “There’s so a lot range, and it is been a satisfaction to fulfill lawful scholars who have been influential to our individual faculty here at UVA Legislation.”
About the New Co-Hosts
Citron, a MacArthur Fellow, is the Jefferson Scholars Foundation Schenck Distinguished Professor in Regulation and Caddell and Chapman Professor of Law at UVA, the place she writes and teaches about privacy, free of charge expression and civil legal rights. She is the author of the publications “Hate Crimes in Cyberspace” and the forthcoming “The Battle for Privacy: Defending Dignity, Identification, and Love in the Electronic Age.”
Hwang’s exploration and teaching aim on company legislation, such as mergers and acquisitions, company contracts and corporate governance. She a short while ago co-taught a January expression program on corporate regulation topics from the Emmy-winning show “Succession.” Hwang is the Barron F. Black Exploration Professor of Legislation.
In advance of joining the school, Harrison worked for the U.S. Department of Justice, like as deputy assistant legal professional basic in the Office of Legal Counsel. His teaching subjects contain constitutional record, federal courts, therapies, businesses, civil treatment, laws and assets. An alumnus of UVA’s undergraduate program, Harrison has also served as counselor on international legislation in the Workplace of the Authorized Adviser at the U.S. Section of State. He is the James Madison Distinguished Professor of Legislation and the Thomas F. Bergin Training Professor of Legislation.
Mitchell, who holds the two a J.D. and Ph.D. in psychology from the College of California at Berkeley, teaches courses in civil litigation and regulation and psychology, and his scholarship focuses on legal judgment and determination-generating, the psychology of justice, and the application of social science to legal theory and plan. He is the Joseph Weintraub–Bank of The usa Distinguished Professor of Law and the Joseph C. Carter, Jr., Exploration Professor of Regulation.
